Easter Friday has been sour to a teacher based in Ntchisi District as he spends the Holly day in the police cooler box.
The Spokesman for Ntchisi police station confirmed the incident.
The brief facts state that it was on 26 March, 2021 when it about lunch time. The victim was passing by the house of the suspect.
The Suspect coaxed the victim to join home to have lunch at his place but on the process the Suspect took advantage and dragged the girl into the nearby bush and raped her.
The medical results confirmed the rape to have taken place. The suspect Mr Standwell Kanyenda aged 37 years who is a teacher at a government primary school in the district denied the offense.
Police also said that the suspect will be appearing before court soon to answer charges of ‘rape’.
The issues of rape and defilements are of high rate in Malawi as from January 2021 till this April Police has so far compiled over 250 cases across the country.
The Police has since advised the Public and the parents to look after the minors as they are being affected on daily basis.
