The season of 2021/2022 shall be in the history of most Malawians as floods were everywhere in the part of southern region of the country.

Reports from one of the human rights activists Mr Anganile Ngosi of Chikwawa district confirmed thatghe floods killed 27 people and others missing whilst over 360,000 displaced from their homes.

The main road that connect Blantyre and Chikwawa has been cut and washed away making it difficult for the well-wishers to reach the area with some emergency items.

Currently government has not announced any plans of working on the damaged road as it is still uncertain to the unpredictable weather of this season.

People from Thabwa area, Masenjere, Domasi, Maseya and people of Nsanje district are camping in churches and school blocks. School session for the region was closed as official communication was made through the ministry of education.
