COVID-19 VACCINE FINALY LANDS IN MALAWI

 It was three months ago when the Malawi Government announced of plans to purchase the Covid-19 Vaccine as the number of people getting infection are escalating in the country.

Today Malawi sings a joyful song as at about 1730hrs the Emirates flight landed at Kamuzu International Airport in the city of Lilongwe a capital city of Malawi.

The Ministry of Health Publication Officer confirmed of the development about the arrival of the plane carrying the vaccine.

 “The plane just landed in the country carrying first consignment of our order and it contains 360, 000 vaccines”, said the Health representative.

He also said that the vaccine will be prioritized only to the Teachers and the Health workers who are highly exposed to the public. The vaccine will be rolled out starting from Monday 8, 2021.

Malawi past two days has experienced the decrease in the number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 and number of deaths. 

African News Magazine interviewed some citizens on their position in regards to the vaccine.

” I am afraid to take this vaccine as it was denied in South Africa that it is not a good one and I also heard that the it’s expiry date is very close,” Said Mr Jailosi  Chimkuluvi.

On contrary to what Mr Jailosi said, another man Mr Ereck Gondwe said that it is good to take this vaccine as most people are commending that the vaccine will help to heal or reduce the infection and spread of the Pandemic.

Malawi has as of to day, recorded about 1062 deaths and 32,290 confirmed cases out of about 300,000 tests conducted in the country since last year February, 2020.
